Build a deep-tech product end to end.
I translate an ambitious idea into requirements, system architecture, critical experiments, prototypes, suppliers, manufacturing, and an operating product program.
Systems architect · founder · engineering leader · San Diego
I connect product strategy, system architecture, multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing, customer delivery, and commercialization.
For 23 years, I have worked where software, electronics, mechanics, physics, AI, operations, and people must function as one system—not as separate departments.

Where I create the most value
I work with founders, executives, customers, and engineering teams when ambition is high, interfaces are unclear, and the path to a reliable product is still missing.
I translate an ambitious idea into requirements, system architecture, critical experiments, prototypes, suppliers, manufacturing, and an operating product program.
I make constraints, interfaces, decisions, risks, and ownership visible—then create an executable path through the uncertainty instead of adding another presentation.
I align engineers, scientists, designers, vendors, executives, and customers around one model of the system, a credible sequence of work, and measurable acceptance.
I help shape the product, operating model, partnerships, commercialization path, and story around the engineering—while protecting the technical truth underneath it.
Leadership & business
My work has included engineering management, customer relationships, budgets, operations, international suppliers, venture building, transactions, and the hard work of keeping multidisciplinary teams coherent.
My current focus includes ADOR, NovaECAM, DeepSense, and CAUSALIS Laboratory—systems that make complex engineering more executable, manufacturing more controllable, sensing more useful, and research more honest.
Across my career, I have contributed to more than 200 product and system efforts and led organizations of up to 175 people. The work spans embedded platforms, medical sensing, robotics, IoT, thermal systems, computer vision, manufacturing, and AI-native engineering.
I built a product-development business that connected industrial design, electronics, Android software, prototyping, and Shenzhen manufacturing. I later completed a $3.8M IP and product-portfolio transaction with an international cybersecurity company.
I created a three-month immersion program for 40–50 founders and invited international experts to help them cross into new markets. In seven months I assembled the team, curriculum, logistics, legal pathway, mentoring process, and an investor-facing E-Projects Fair on the Costa del Sol.
I built and led a 32-person software and engineering organization that combined client delivery with product development. It taught me to manage the tension between short-term commitments, reusable technology, and the economics of an R&D business.
I first managed 12 developers building 16 digital products, then led a 42-person multidisciplinary department spanning infrastructure, software, business systems, and internal services. I integrated ERP, CRM, editorial, HR, and accounting workflows, launched a digital agency, and reduced technology operating costs by 20%.

Technical operating range
My deepest practice is systems architecture, product realization, and engineering leadership. Across specialist sciences, I work well enough to frame interfaces, risks, models, and experiments—and to bring the right experts into one executable architecture.
The lists below show the technical languages I can connect when a product crosses conventional boundaries.ISO 15288 · MBSE · SysML · TRIZ · requirements
I turn stakeholder intent into system boundaries, requirements, interfaces, verification logic, risk sequence, and a delivery plan that engineering and management can both use.
Teams · customers · programs · suppliers · commercialization
I have led distributed technical organizations, customer programs, budgets, vendors, operations, product strategy, and commercialization—from small expert teams to organizations of 175 people.
Generative AI · computer vision · RAG · governed agents
I treat AI as one subsystem inside a governed product: connected to sensors, data quality, evaluation, human authority, cost, latency, security, and field feedback.
C/C++ · Python · controls · SLAM · IoT · AR/VR
I connect electronics, firmware, controls, sensing, mechanics, cloud services, and human interaction into field-ready product architectures.
CAD/CAM · DFM · CFD/FEA · materials · thermal systems
I use modeling, simulation, prototype evidence, supplier capability, and design-for-manufacture together—because a product is not complete when the CAD file is complete.
Advanced mathematics · physics · chemistry · FAA · FDA · IEEE
I use scientific working knowledge to structure experiments and communicate with specialists across disciplines, while keeping domain authority and certification responsibility explicit.
How I work
I combine ISO 15288 discipline, Agile MBSE, SysML, TRIZ, and evidence-first experimentation without turning engineering into ceremony.
Define the real problem, stakeholders, constraints, value, and system boundary.
Make requirements, interfaces, causal assumptions, ownership, and acceptance explicit.
Sequence the unknowns and run the smallest experiments that can change a decision.
Integrate product, software, hardware, suppliers, verification, and delivery.
Close the field-to-product loop and improve the system, team, and economics together.
The artifacts are part of the operating system: requirements, models, code, CAD, tests, decisions, suppliers, and customer evidence must remain connected enough to explain what changed, why, and who had authority.
Recommendations
Short excerpts from signed recommendation letters. Complete letters are available on request.
“Dmitry is an excellent manager and leader who has built a very qualified and capable team.”Vitaly Soloviev · EMTensor GmbH
We worked together on the program architecture and development plan for a multidisciplinary brain-imaging system. The letter describes my leadership across tendering, system planning, design reviews, prototypes, budgets, documentation, and the client relationship.
“Dmitry has been directing all aspects of the research and development process and acting as our main point of contact.”Vadim Asadov · NeurOK / Lipolysis Robotics
We worked together on outsourced R&D spanning engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing documentation, procurement, logistics, and prototype coordination across countries.
“The team proved itself very well organized, achieving excellent results in a timely fashion under Dmitry’s direction.”Nikita Gerts · Moon Devices
We worked together on a connected protective mask, from product vision and design review through prototypes, bills of materials, documentation, operations, budgeting, and global business development.
“Dima doesn’t just solve problems. He reimagines them.”CJ Pettinati · Senior Design Engineer
CJ’s recommendation speaks to systems thinking, mentorship, technical curiosity, and the ability to connect details to the complete machine—qualities visible in our discussions around manufacturing and engineering systems.

Beyond the work
I am a licensed civilian pilot, a motorcyclist, a husband, and a father of three. Flying and riding keep one principle very concrete for me: elegant theory matters, but the system must remain understandable and trustworthy when reality becomes noisy.
I also maintain access to an extensive network of scientists, engineers, laboratories, and manufacturing partners. I bring the right expertise into the architecture instead of pretending one person should know everything.
